Closing the Hope Gap: Findings from a Rapid Community Appraisal of Youth in al-Fayhaa Union of Municipalities, North Lebanon
Under the Global Partnership for Youth Employment, supported by the World Bank, a rapid community appraisal of youth residing northern Lebanon was conducted by the International Youth Foundation (IYF) and its partners Arab Urban Development Institute/Middle East and North Africa Child and Youth Initiative (AUDI/MENACYI) and the Young Men's Christian Association of Lebanon (YMCA). The purpose of the assessment was to inform the design of program activities to ensure they address challenges and opportunities specific to the Tripoli, el-Mina, and Beddawi, and to gain a better understanding of the prospects and conditions of Lebanese youth in these areas. The RCA consisted of in-depth surveys and focus groups with young people, as well as interviews and focus groups with parents and community leaders.
